James Baldwin is a 25 year old Racing Driver, who competed in the British GT Championship throughout 2020. James started his racing career in Karting aged 8 going on to win five national championships. Unable to secure a suitable budget to progress into single seaters James did not give up, instead turning to the new and exciting arena of Esports as a way to keep racing competitively.
James quickly established himself as one of the worlds top esports drivers winning a number of prestigious championships including the Le Mans Esports Series and The eRace of Champions before going on to be crowned ‘Worlds Fastest Gamer’ in 2019.
For 2020, with support from ‘Worlds Fastest Gamer’, James raced a McLaren GT3 for Jenson Button’s team in British GT. He secured three pole positions and a race victory, which came on his debut and he with his team, finished an overall 4th position in the Championship. Unable to find sufficient backing to continue racing
in 2021 James returned to Esports, winning a number of prestigious championships.
He was also able to combine this with a drive at the prestigious 2022 TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa in a McLaren 720S GT3 for the Garage 59 team. At this event he proved his ability to race with the best GT drivers in the world, finishing 7th overall in his qualifying session and producing very competitive lap times during the race itself. When asked about his performance after the race, the team said they would have James ‘back in a heartbeat’.
James is now seeking partners to work with in order to secure a full time drive for the 2023 season in a series
such as GT World Challenge, British GT, European Le Mans Series and / or the World Endurance Championship.
